The purpose of Legislative Day is to deliver our legislative agenda right to the door of our State Representatives and Senators. As an industry, we must proactively inform and educate elected officials of the consequences of passing over-reaching legislation that can have an overly burdensome and costly effect on small businesses and consumers. Without your strong support and grassroots action, PHCC and ACCO will not be able to accomplish our goals.
Legislative Day 2020 was cancelled. We were optimistic and had been working hard to hold legislative day (first in the spring, then in the fall), but as more legislative staff tested positive for COVID 19, the governor and leadership implemented various restrictions to the State house. We’re optimistic we’ll be holding an event this fall.
On June 4, over 30 ACCO and PHCC members visited the Statehouse to meet with lawmakers to discuss Residential Licensing and the Business Investment Deduction. After our issues briefing, members met with Sec. of State Frank LaRose and then had meetings with over 40 Representatives and Senators. Our day ended with an evening reception that was attended by more than 80 legislators and staff at the Statehouse.
